Uli Oesterle is a freelance graphic designer and illustrator with a strong passion for comics. He is a founding member of the independent illustration studio ‘Die Artillerie’. Uli’s illustrations appeared in reknown magazines like Playboy, Tomorrow, Cinema and Men’s Health.
He started publishing short comics in the fanzine Comicstrich, and now has four full albums on his name. Schläfenlappenphantasien (Zwerchfell, 1999) contains five short stories about madness. Bries published an English version under the title Brain Songs in 2002. Fraß (Edition 52, 2000) was Uli’s first long story in full colour. It was followed by the dark adventure series Hector Umbra (2003-2009, Carlsen Verlag - published in Dutch at Silvester).
