Frédéric Coché

Frédéric Coché is a Frenchman who obtained a degree in comic art at Sint Lukas, Brussels. His first publications appeared in the magazine Frigobox (Fréon, nowadays known as Frémok). Fréon organised workshops in Brussels that lead to the series Récits de Ville. This is where Cochés first book took shape.

Hortus Sanitatis (Fréon, 2001) entirely consist of etches and is entirely wordless. The same technique was adopted for The Hero’s Life and Death Triumphant (a coproduction with Frémok ), as well as for Ars Simia Naturae (Editions l’oeil du serpent).

During a residence in Berlin, Coché switched to large-scale oil paintings. He exposes regularly in France and other European countries.
