Nora Krug groeide op in Duitsland. Op 19-jarige leeftijd vertrok ze naar Liverpool om er te gaan studeren aan de Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Ze haalde er haar bachelors. Ze behaalde daarna haar masters (documentaire film en illustratie) aan de Universität der Künste Berlin. Een studiebeurs bracht haar vervolgens naar New York waar ze in het MFA Illustration program studeerde, aan de School of Visual Arts (New York). Zij is sinds enkele jaren universitair hoofddocent (Illustration Program) aan Parsons The New School for Design in New York.
De illustraties van Nora verschenen o.a. in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, Vanity Fair, Playboy, Blab! en Le monde Diplomatique.
Ze won verscheidene prijzen waaronder één van de New York Art Director’s Club (2004) en de ‘Gold Medal’ van de New York Society of Illustrators (2005). Haar animaties werden o.a. vertoond op het Sundance Film Festival (US) en Ogaki Biennale (Japan).
Nora Krug grew up in Germany and now lives and works in New York. Her illustrations and visual narratives have been recognized by American Illustration, the New York Art Director’s Club and the New York Society of Illustrators, which awarded her a gold medal. Her illustrations have been published in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, Vanity Fair, Playboy, Blab! and Le monde Diplomatique.
Nora’s animations have been featured at festivals such as the Sundance and Ars Electronica. Nora is an associate professor in the Illustration Program at Parsons The New School for Design.
